Introduction 

George Bernard Shaw, Irish comic dramatist, literary critic, and socialist propagandist, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1925.George Bernard Shaw known at his insistence simply as Bernard Shaw, was an Irish playwright, critic, polemicist and political activist.


The movement

  • Once Bernard shaw told an artist that he will give 100 pound if the artist drew his picture
  • That artist drew a realistic picture of Shaw and gave him
  • Shaw felt happy and gave 100 pound as 5 cheque with 20 pound each
  • along with a appreciation letter
  • The artist was surprised why Shaw has given
  • 5 cheque instead of 1
  • He asked “ Sir, You could have given in one cheque. 
  • why have you given as 5 cheque.”
  • Shaw replied “ Don’t withdraw using the  cheque now. I itself get 30 pounds for my signature “
  • “If you sell all these 5 cheque having my signature individually then you’ll get 150 pounds”
  • “ 50 pound profit for you and profit for me too”
  • The artist asked “ Sir, how is it profit for you ?”
  • Shaw replied “ Nobody will withdraw amount using those cheques as it is having my signature“.
  • “They will protect it as a treasure. So my money will be safe in bank”
